HAPPY NEW YEAR

May you experience faith, hope and love.

This year I have some scriptures that we're reading daily until Christmas. I do not recall reading about Mary saying so much. She was so surprised that SHE was the one that was going to bring the messiah into the world.

Yesterday we read... "He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree."

The Devil has Limits

Thought ... the devil can only know and do what my great God gives him permission. The devil has to obtain Gods permission. God has commanded that I be prepared when the devil(s) temp me. I take comfort that all I go through, God will use for good for mine and those who love Him.

1Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

Ephesians 6:11 "Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."

Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called accordning to his purpose."

Purity of Manners ~ A Ladies Beauty

Biblical modesty transcends clothing and pertains also to our demeanor, that is, our actions and conduct. Our conduct is, of course, ultimately rooted in the state of our hearts. The two are inseperable. The critical step in cultivating modesty is to cultivate the heart. As a Christian woman nurtures her relationship with Christ and grows in grace and knowledge, she will also be nurturing the virtue of modesty.

All that we say should have the scent of grace and gratitude upon it; our demeanor and our clothing should be the same.

from the book 'The Beauty of Modesty'

"And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." Colossians 3:17
